Poem: Ek Shaheed ka Paigham (A Martyr's Message) - With Translation

Maa, maiñ chalā jāoñ, to mat ronā.
Merī yaad jab aaye, to mere maqsad kā sochnā,
Aur apne aangan kī mittī ko seeney se lagā ke muskūrā ker kehnā,
Ke "ae mere laal, tū ne aaj apnī būrhī maa kā sar faḳhar se buland ker diyā."

Chhotī, maiñ chalā jāoñ, to pareshān mat honā.
Merī yaad jab aaye, to yeh sochnā ke tū ek shaheed kī behan hai.
Maa ko merā pyār denā mat bhoolnā roz subhā,
Aur kehnā ke, "tere shair ne un geedaroñ ko bhagā diyā."

Dost, maiñ chalā jāoñ, to ḳhud ko tanhā mehsoos mat kernā.
Merī yaad jab aaye, to Ḳhudā ke ghar jaa ke merī jagah beth jaanā,
Aur Ḳhudā se mere mulk kī hifāzat kī duā maañg lenā.

- Ek jaush se bharpūr sipāhī kā paiġhām

Mother, when I depart, do not lament.
When I cross your mind, think about my purpose,
And embrace the dust of your courtyard with a smile and say that
"O my darling son, you have lifted your old mother's head with honor today."

Little sister, when I depart, do not fret.
When I cross your mind, remember that you are a martyr's sister.
Do not forget to render my affection to Mother every morning,
And say that "your lion drove those cowards away."

Buddy, when I depart, do not feel lonesome.
When I cross your mind, visit the House of God and sit in my place,
And pray to Him to protect my homeland.
