Poem: Love Lost Ashore

We stayed up marveling at Fate's doings
Infinite wonders, endless possibilities
Grinning ear to ear at an ungodly hour

Though it was for a brief moment
we laughed away our painful realities
Life was unabridged for our tired souls

Soon the waves of reality came crashing
And the smirks on our faces washed off
Nothing lasts forever, it's undeniably true

We went straight to bed only to realize
That rest was never a possibility for us
Fate changed us, we couldn't change it
