Poem: No Place Like Home

This summer was one to hate
Tears rescind but the hurt remains

Lilac sunrise after a sleepless night
Your sight made me see the light

You're nothing like home, I'm grateful
Home is cold, but it's not eternal

I'd bring you home but that's brutal
You're my forever but we're mortal
